To honour and acknowledge donors to the University we share their stories of remarkable generosity and vision.

Donor Stories

Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present.

Albert Camus

Nicola and Andrew Forrest CitWA

A $65 million donation made by Andrew and Nicola Forrest to UWA is the largest philanthropic gift in Australian history.

Greg Poche AO and Kay van Norton Poche

Tackling the health of Aboriginal children is the priority of UWA’s new Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. Leading Australian philanthropists Greg Poche and his wife Kay van Norton Poche have donated $10 million to UWA to create the WA-based centre.

Jean Kahan

Jean Kahan was one of our University’s pioneers and her life example teaches us to pursue our dreams in spite of the obstacles we may face. Jean was a generous contributor throughout her lifetime and has left a lasting legacy.

John Harriott

The retired anaesthetist is what is known as a living bequestor: he has made a substantial bequest to establish a Chair in the School of Psychiatry and Clinical Neuroscience but he didn’t want to wait until he had died for his funds to become available.

Dr Annette Finn and Dr Donald Stewart

Consistent giving to the University demonstrates an outstanding loyalty that we greatly appreciate. Many long-term donors are motivated to give by a strong family connection with UWA. Others are driven by their deep appreciation of the transformative educational experience and solid foundation in life UWA provides.
