For over 60 years, the Reid Library has been a cornerstone of curiosity at UWA, fostering learning, connection, and  the preservation of wisdom, stories, and discoveries from generations past.

The recent refurbishment of the Reid Library has reimagined the space to prioritise collaboration and technological advancement. The contemporary design of Reid Library features a ‘Reading Wall,’ which will exhibit a curated selection of treasures from the Library’s Special Collections. This initiative will spark curiosity, inviting students to engage, debate, and explore the rich stories within the Library’s archives.

Bring History to Life

UWA Convocation invites you to join their collective giving appeal to fund the Creator-in-Residence program. This initiative will bring the Reading Wall to life for new audiences by curating dynamic displays inspired by the Library’s Special Collections.

The Creator-in-Residence could be an artist, writer, or scholar—someone with a passion for interpretation and storytelling. This program will offer a unique opportunity for immersion.

Through their work—be it an artistic installation or an interactive experience—the Creator will bring the Reading Wall to life and present exciting insights into UWA’s rich history and archives, while inspiring innovation, engagement, and excellence.

Be Part of the Story

To bring the Creator-in-Residence program to life and unlock the potential of this space, we need your help.

With your support, we aim to raise $100,000 to establish and fund this initiative for generations to benefit from. Contributions will go towards providing resources to the Creator to develop their installation or provide for interactive workshops designed to engage students in the creative process, as well as the chosen Creator’s research which may involve archival access to explore and interpret UWA's collections. Additionally, funds may help enable any public exhibitions and events to showcase the Creator-in-Residence’s work, providing opportunities for the wider community to share in the journey.

Every gift, no matter the size, brings this vision closer to reality – give today and help us reach $100,000.

Let’s ensure the Reid Library’s Special Collections are not just maintained but celebrated and act as a source of inspiration for the future.

May the advancement of knowledge continue on...

Donations of $1,000 or more will be recognised on a commemorative shelf.

Only 100 opportunities available.
